I Quit My Job

Quitter: So yesterday I came to the decision to quit the dream job, that one that turned into a night mare you know? I was too much I was in it for the experience in marketing and ended up not gaining any or very little, it became problem after problem, I ended up working in the shop being the “merchandiser” but really being the sales assistant I always was so for a while I felt it wasn’t right, but I put up with it longer than I thought I would, I left purely due to the face I was roated in the shop that was an hour and a half away which is difficult enough but getting two busses that never run on time was just insane finishing at 7pm was the worst from that distance. I had spoke many time with the manager about it but he continued to tell me things would change after a certain day, last week was mean to be the last week of being there, but when I arrived late Monday morning I was told off for being late and was asked “why are you finding it hard to get here” when he knew I was relying on busses that don’t run so often. Then I had seen the new roater, which was all day everyday except Saturday afternoon in that shop 10am to 7pm EVERYDAY! Getting home between 9pm and 10pm, no thank you, so I wasn’t happy. But that wasn’t the last straw, the last straw was…I had to ring 5 people before I was allowed to go to the toilet, I asked the “supervisor” who said to ring manager, who wasn’t in then I had to ring the accounts guy who didn’t want to give me the position, so I rang the other shops who didn’t answer so I asked if I can just go it will only take a few seconds and the shop is quiet, supervisor said no try manager again, so he didn’t answer again so I said its ok ill wait..I’m a girl I have rights! I only needed to pee but still! This was stupid, for some reason I didn’t just leave then I waited and went to speak with the manager about how it was and that I’m not happy working there, he almost talked me into staying but on my brake I jumped on a bus home told the manager by text that I won’t be back. I need to look at the positive outcome of the job because I did learn some things and I did get advert in magazines and I did manager to do some cool stuff! But the no training or support made it hard I wasn’t even shown were to find the contacts or were the folders are for the artworks, I was laterally sat down at a desk and told “we don’t have time to train you, you just have to do stuff” but then I had to run everything through the manager, so I would write up a piece send it to the manager he would change it send it back and I would send it off, he might as well be doing the whole thing himself. But it was an experience Anyway today (the day after) I went to town for a coffee with my boy and bumped into him ha-ha AWKWARD! Thankfully he was pulling out in his car but still came eye to eye with him OOPS! I am glad it all happened but I’m even happier to be out, now I can work on my own stuff, illustrations and try and get some freelance work sorted for now. Wish me luck!!
